“It’s okay to not feel okay.”
From a young age, we are bombarded with expectations about what it means to be a woman, mother, caregiver, professional, partner, friend, and more. Navigating these roles can often feel overwhelming and exhausting.
Society demands so much from us as women—balancing so many responsibilities with grace, while appearing strong. It feels like the mental and emotional load of it all is only getting bigger. And just because you carry it well does not mean it’s not heavy.
Our team supports women through every stage of life, whether you’re dealing with self-esteem issues, managing anxiety, facing fertility challenges, transitioning to motherhood, experiencing burnout, or navigating the emotional labour of home life.
At Life In Full Bloom Therapy, we’re here to support you on your mental health journey.

How We Help Women
We blend modalities such as EMDR, ACT, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and EFT to help you bloom into the best version of yourself.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Do you ever feel like you’re not living the life you truly want?
ACT helps women identify what is most valuable to them and commit to living according to those values. By focusing on what truly matters, women can lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT helps us understand how to manage our emotions so that we can stay present and focused on what matters to us and move through our emotions. This approach helps us bounce back more quickly when facing tough challenges.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT empowers women to manage their thoughts so that they work for them, not against them. By recognizing that not all thoughts are facts, women can focus on thoughts that serve them well.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness helps us stay in the present moment, allowing us to find more joy in our daily lives. This practice encourages a deeper connection with the here and now and how to prioritize your well-being during moments of overwhelm.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT helps women understand the origins of their emotional and relationship patterns. By recognizing these patterns, they can work towards healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a structured therapy approach that is different than “talk therapy” approaches. The EMDR therapist guides you to briefly focus on a traumatic or difficult memory while experiencing bilateral brain stimulation through moving your eyes in a specific way. This technique has shown to decrease the vividness and emotional intensity of trauma-related or difficult memories.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy For Women
Is parenting supposed to be this hard or is it just me?
It’s not just you! You didn’t expect motherhood to be this hard — most people don’t! It is impossible to know in advance how motherhood will change your life. But it changes everything – your home, your relationships, your body, your finances, your sleep, your health, your hobbies. There probably isn’t a single thing in your life that hasn’t been altered since becoming a parent. That fact alone is a lot of change to move through. Many parts of motherhood can feel hard -even if you’ve waited for this time for years and are “grateful for every moment”.
In the early days of motherhood, it’s almost like nothing else can exist — it’s just your tiny baby and you. It’s all consuming, survival-based and that’s probably necessary. But as the newborn fog slowly clears and you start coming out on the other side of the baby stage, sometimes we need some help remembering (or discovering anew) what lights us up, who we are outside of motherhood and parenting and how we can integrate that back into our lives now a little bit at a time. It takes intention and some effort but it’s doable. As moms, we so clearly set the energy of the home for our children. A calm and happy mom is what’s truly meaningful to children.
Parenting is really hard and most parents are learning how to parent as they go — I call it building the plane as you are flying it! We try, we fumble, we try again, we hope we get it right and don’t crash. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don’t. Everybody finds at least some parts of parenting challenging! We have access to so much more information and education about parenting than people did in the past – and that’s great — but it can also feel really confusing or like you don’t know which “method” is right for your child and so you lose your confidence as a parent. The truth is this is really hard but you can do hard things!
How can therapy help me feel more like myself again?
Therapy can help in a number of ways. Often, we will work on our emotional regulation first — kids and homes come with a lot of stimulation and a lot of bumps in your day that get us off track. How often was it just a short hard moment that then felt like a whole hard day? What if you could bounce back from that hard moment and move on with your day more seamlessly?
In therapy, we learn how to manage our emotions so that we can stay present and focused on what matters to us and move through our emotions.
We identify your values in life — what’s truly important and why? —and align your thoughts and behaviours to those values. Together, we figure out how to set boundaries, delegate the mental and emotional load of home and family and make time for you again.
I feel like I’m losing it all the time and snapping at my kids or partner! How can therapy help?
We will always begin with hearing your story and your unique situation. Although many moms have common triggers that we hear over and over again, we want to get to know yours in great detail and most importantly why they are “triggers” for you. In therapy, you will learn how to notice what happens before you “lose it”, build an awareness of how to recognize the strong emotion before it pulls you in and how to move through the emotion without losing your cool. And if you do “lose it” – hey, we are all human! Therapy will also help you learn how to soothe yourself after so you can recover quicker and repair the relationship that may have been impacted by that moment.
The deeper we journey into motherhood, the more we come to understand the vital importance of loving and caring for ourselves as mothers. Our mood, our presence, and our energy sets the whole tone of our home. If we are content, the children are content. If our needs are not met and our nervous system is not balanced, it’s incredibly hard to parent from a place of peace and true presence in the moment.
I barely have time to shower - how am I going to find time for therapy and doing more things for myself?
We totally get it! As mothers, we are so busy taking care of everyone else’s needs all day long, that the idea of fitting in anything for yourself can already feel overwhelming. This is why we love virtual therapy as the option for moms – our clients tell us this is so much easier to fit into their days – there is no need to drive anywhere, no need to arrange childcare (many of our clients will schedule appointments during nap times or when another family member is home to keep an eye on the kids). In therapy, we will look at things that are taking both your energy and your time and see where we can help you carve out more moments for yourself – it often seems impossible but we can!
My fertility or pregnancy journey isn’t what I expected it would be. How can therapy support my fertility journey?
Longing for motherhood can feel heart-breaking and exhausting. So often, women express feeling like their body has “failed them”, as they accumulate different types of losses in their fertility journey —from emotional (losing hope, losing trust in your body) to physical (getting your period when you hoped you’d be pregnant, experiencing a miscarriage). We work with women in all parts of their fertility journey. Whether you are navigating the maze of infertility, are going through a loss, experiencing difficulty in pregnancy, are a new parent adjusting to the demands of caring for a newborn – we work with mamas in all stages of their journey. And as mothers ourselves, we can understand the unique challenges and joys that come with each stage of this life.
How long will it take to feel better?
This varies depending on what concerns you are coming with. Sometimes, 4-6 sessions can feel like enough to get through a difficult period and see the light at the end of the tunnel of the stage you are in and start to move forward. More often, women will find the most benefit in maintaining therapy for at least 4-6 months so they can start implementing and practicing what they are learning in therapy. Creating new ways of thinking and new habits can often take a few months and we want to continue to work together to support you through any bumps along the road (there are always at least a few!). If you are navigating a difficult fertility journey, we will walk alongside you as long as you find it helpful and feel supported – often that can be therapy on and off throughout your entire fertility journey, pregnancy and those early newborn weeks.
