Adult ADHD Support
We Provide Online Therapy For Adult ADHD In Ontario
Our experienced therapists help you reconnect with the present, prioritize self-care, and achieve a balanced, fulfilling life.
In ADHD therapy, you work one-on-one with your therapist to learn the skills to manage the symptoms of ADHD. ADHD therapy often involves creating strategies and routines that help you work with your brain rather than battling against it. The focus is on using your energy to build the new habits, rather than fight the old ones.
With adult ADHD, there is also often an element of emotional regulation that therapy can help address. Sometimes, individuals with ADHD find that they react quickly with “bigger” emotions than they expected. Therapy can help learn strategies to identify those emotions earlier on and prevent a bigger reaction.
It is important to acknowledge that for many adults who weren’t diagnosed with ADHD until later on in life, they spent much of their childhood, adolescence and even adulthood unsure of what was wrong. They often heard things like “You have great potential if you just apply yourself” or thoughts like “Things seem harder for me than for others, but I never knew why” or even “I just thought I was lazy and procrastinated everything, why can’t I just do it!”. Therapy can help adults with ADHD work through those memories and make sense of their experiences in the context of their diagnosis.

How We Help You
We blend modalities such as EMDR, ACT, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and EFT to help you bloom into the best version of yourself.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Do you ever feel like you’re not living the life you truly want?
ACT helps people identify what really matters to them in their lives and commit to living according to those values. By focusing on what truly matters, people can lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT helps us understand how to manage our emotions so that we can stay present and focused on what matters to us and move through our emotions. This approach helps us bounce back more quickly when facing tough challenges.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT empowers people to notice manage their thoughts so that they work for them, not against them. By recognizing that not all thoughts are facts, people can focus on choosing the thoughts that serve them well.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness helps us stay in the present moment, allowing us to find more joy in our daily lives. This practice encourages a deeper connection with the here and now and prioritizing compassion and well-being during moments of overwhelm or anxiety.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT helps people understand the origins of their relationship patterns and emotions. By identifying and noticing these cycles, people can work towards healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a structured therapy approach that is different than “talk therapy” approaches. The EMDR therapist guides you to briefly focus on a traumatic or difficult memory while experiencing bilateral brain stimulation through moving your eyes in a specific way. This technique has shown to decrease the vividness and emotional intensity of trauma-related or difficult memories.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy For Adult ADHD
What is ADHD therapy and how can it help?
ADHD therapy helps individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to manage symptoms such as lack of focus and impulsivity. ADHD therapy can provide strategies for improving focus, organization, time management, and emotional regulation. Therapy would also address other mental health concerns that are commonly associated with ADHD such anxiety, depression or low self-esteem.
How do I know if therapy is the right option for managing my ADHD?
If ADHD symptoms are interfering with daily functioning—such as at school, work, or relationships—therapy can help. Often medication alone is not enough and individuals find that they still need additional support in developing new skills or managing emotional challenges.
What types of therapy are used for ADHD?
The most common therapies for ADHD include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps individuals recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns and Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on reinforcing positive behaviors and minimizing negative ones. Your therapist may use a variety of other therapies and approaches that suit your unique situation best.
Will ADHD therapy work right away?
ADHD therapy is a process that takes time. While some people may notice improvements in their focus, organization, or emotional regulation relatively quickly, long-term success typically requires consistent effort and the development of new habits. Your therapist will work with you to set realistic goals and track progress over time.
Can therapy help with ADHD-related issues like anxiety or low self-esteem?
Yes, ADHD can often co-occur with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Therapy can address these concerns, as well, helping individuals build coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and develop a more positive self-image.
Do I need medication if I’m getting ADHD therapy?
Medication is often used alongside therapy for ADHD, but it is not a requirement for therapy. Therapy can still be highly effective on its own, particularly when combined with lifestyle adjustments and learning new habits.
How much does therapy cost and how does payment work? How does it work with my insurance?
Our individual session rate is $160 per session.
Once the session is completed, you will receive an invoice with all the necessary information to submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. We do not bill the insurance companies directly.
We accept Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and e-transfer to the clinic. We recommend adding your credit card information to your client profile for the most seamless process.

Positive Outcomes Of Therapy
Every person and situation is unique, but with consistency and commitment you may notice:
-
Improved Focus and Attention
ADHD therapy can help individuals develop strategies to enhance concentration, reduce distractions, and stay on task. With techniques like mindfulness, environmental changes and organizational tools and “hacks”, people can often improve their focus and productivity at school, work, or home. -
Better Emotional Regulation
Therapy often helps individuals learn how to manage their emotions and in the case of ADHD - impulsivity, frustration and strong emotional reactions. As a result, individuals can better handle stress, disappointment and social challenges, leading to improved emotional stability and healthier relationships. -
Enhanced Organizational Skills
ADHD therapy often includes coaching on time management, planning, and organizing daily tasks. This can lead to better management of responsibilities, fewer missed deadlines, and a greater sense of control over one’s environment and activities. -
Reduced Negative Behaviors
Therapy helps individuals identify and replace negative patterns of behavior (like procrastination, impulsivity, or disorganization) with more positive, productive actions. This results in improved self-regulation and better decision-making in both personal and professional settings. -
Improved Self-Esteem and Confidence
It can be common for individuals with ADHD to experience low self-esteem or a sense of being “not good enough”. When what are regular daily tasks to your peers are extra difficult for you, it can be hard to feel good about yourself. By learning how to manage ADHD symptoms effectively, individuals often gain a sense of accomplishment and mastery. Therapy helps people feel more in control of their lives, reducing frustration and increasing their sense of self-worth.
