How We Help You
We blend modalities such as EMDR, ACT, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and EFT to help you bloom into the best version of yourself.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Do you ever feel like you’re not living the life you truly want?
ACT helps people identify what really matters to them in their lives and commit to living according to those values. By focusing on what truly matters, people can lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT helps us understand how to manage our emotions so that we can stay present and focused on what matters to us and move through our emotions. This approach helps us bounce back more quickly when facing tough challenges.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT empowers people to notice manage their thoughts so that they work for them, not against them. By recognizing that not all thoughts are facts, people can focus on choosing the thoughts that serve them well.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness helps us stay in the present moment, allowing us to find more joy in our daily lives. This practice encourages a deeper connection with the here and now and prioritizing compassion and well-being during moments of overwhelm or anxiety.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT helps people understand the origins of their relationship patterns and emotions. By identifying and noticing these cycles, people can work towards healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a structured therapy approach that is different than “talk therapy” approaches. The EMDR therapist guides you to briefly focus on a traumatic or difficult memory while experiencing bilateral brain stimulation through moving your eyes in a specific way. This technique has shown to decrease the vividness and emotional intensity of trauma-related or difficult memories.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy For Depression
What can I expect during my first therapy session?
Typically, your first session will involve lots of questions and dialogue with your therapist to learn more about you and what brought you to therapy. You may discuss things like your history, important relationships in your life, work or home life and your current challenges and goals for therapy.
How long does therapy take and how often will I need to go?
The length of therapy can vary depending on the individual and the nature of the issues being worked on. Some people may benefit from just a few sessions, while others may attend therapy for several months or years.
It’s often recommended to start with weekly sessions to gain some momentum on your therapy goals, but session frequency can always be adjusted and spaced out based on your schedule and progress.
Typically, as things progress towards your goals, you and your therapist may work together to space your sessions out to bi-weekly or even monthly to see how that feels.
What if I don’t click with my therapist?
It’s normal to wonder how to handle discomfort with a therapist. If you don’t feel a connection or are uncomfortable for any reason, it’s important to communicate that with your therapist.
A good therapist will validate how important your comfort is to make the most progress in therapy and may try switching their approach or even refer you to another professional, if needed.
How do I know if therapy is working?
People often wonder how to measure progress in therapy. Signs that your therapy is working for you may include increased self-awareness and self-reflection, less reactivity, healthier coping strategies, improved mood, or a sense of resolution or peace around certain issues.
Progress can be gradual, but not linear meaning that it’s common to have some setbacks along the way. Learning how to recover from setbacks is a crucial part of therapy, as they are inevitable in life!
Discussing your feelings around progress with your therapist can help gauge whether you’re on the right track – they are often able to reflect back to you the changes that they notice happening from their perspective when working with you.
How much does therapy cost and how does payment work? How does it work with my insurance?
Our individual session rate is $160 per session. Our couples therapy rate is $190 per session.
Once the session is completed, you will receive an invoice with all the necessary information to submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. We do not bill the insurance companies directly.
We accept Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and e-transfer to the clinic. We recommend adding your credit card information to your client profile for the most seamless process.

Positive Outcomes Of Therapy
Every person and situation is unique, but with consistency and commitment you may notice:
-
Improved Emotional Regulation and Coping Skills
Therapy helps individuals develop better emotional awareness and regulation, enabling them to manage their emotions more effectively. With techniques learned in therapy, clients often find they are better able to cope with stress, anxiety, anger, sadness, and other challenging emotions. On the other end of the emotions spectrum, individuals are also able to stay more present and mindful in their positive and joyful emotions, noticing them more frequently and feeling an increased awareness of when they are experiencing joy or contentment. Often, this creates a better sense of balance around their emotions. -
Increased Self-Awareness and Insight
Through the therapeutic process, many people gain deeper self-awareness, understanding the connections between their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions more clearly. This helps people understand and manage anxiety symptoms. This self-awareness can lead to better decision-making, improved relationships, breaking unhelpful habits or patterns and a clearer understanding of how to live one’s life in alignment with your values and goals -

Improved Relationships
Therapy often helps improve communication skills, increase empathy, and resolve conflicts. People who engage in therapy tend to have healthier relationships, whether with romantic partners, family, friends, or colleagues, because they learn how to express their needs more effectively, understand others better and feel more confident setting boundaries. -
Increased Self-Esteem and Confidence
Therapy can help individuals address negative self-talk and underlying beliefs that contribute to low self-esteem. Over time, developing self-compassion and building a more positive self-image can lead to increased confidence. -
Reduction of Symptoms Related to Mental Health Issues
One of the most significant benefits of therapy is symptom relief for individuals struggling with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD, or ADHD. Therapy helps people understand the root causes of their symptoms and develop strategies to reduce or manage them -
Goal Setting and Personal Growth
Therapy often helps individuals clarify their life goals, whether they’re related to career, relationships, personal development, or other areas. This takes people out of living on auto-pilot and into more intentional daily choices and life decisions that are more aligned with their values. Working with a therapist can help create actionable plans to achieve these goals, overcome obstacles, and break through self-limiting beliefs. This sense of direction and accomplishment can be highly motivating and fulfilling.
